I adore this shoe, but I would immediately cut off that terrible ankle strap. I'm sure it would work better with just the two, as a mary jane with extra details and cutouts. If you love this Brian Atwood shoe as much as I do (but have more money to spend), you can pre-order these Fineday heels at Nordstrom for €307.
