Shoe challenge #36: In mint condition

Skirt and tights (New Look), fuchsia top (street
market in Bangkok), ballerina wrap top (WE)
and shoes (Primark, through eBay)
I love looking at these shoes. They're just the prettiest shade of cool mint green, in a lovely suedette (that gets dirty so easily, obviously), and have a gorgeous shape to them. They are the kind of shoes that I generally always fall for: a classic court shape, but with a colour that gives them that little bit of extra oomph.
I don't like wearing them though. First of all, I'm obsessed with keeping them pristine. Second, they are just not comfortable. They turned out a size too big (about sizing issues in shoes, read here), but too narrow in width. Adds up to: uncomfy. It put some insoles in, but they still slip of my feet as soon as I try to pick up some speed and they pinch the side of my left foot. Grrrrrr!!

Still, they are too pretty to give them up and clueless and naive as I sometimes am, I keep hoping they'll magically have become easier to wear next time I put them on. No such luck though. I wore them with my shoes and bags skirt, that I bought from this lovely shoe lover, and thus added minty green and bright pink to an otherwise black outfit.
And now onto the real start of the shoeper challenge: Monday (Valentine's day). I know exactly which shoes (and which outfit) I'm going to wear. And you?

  1. oh yes they are superpretty! my shoes are usually too wide and too short. I have narrow feet with long toes :( but they ARE gorgeous!

  2. Oh, I'm jealous! These have the most beautiful and unusual colour! How about trying to wear them with something like this: http://www.nissen.co.jp/sho_item/regular/0408/0408_56080.asp
It's called shoe band and keeps shoes that are a little bit too big from falling off! They have lots of them in all kinds of styles here in Japan, but if they don't sell them in your country you could easily make some yourself that match the style of your shoe :)
