Shoe challenge #16: Deep burgundy

Purple jeans (H&M), top (NafNaf)
and shoes (KENs)
Today started off as the most boring Ruby Shoesday ever. Obvious result of not enough sleep, and not enough red shoes. I went with a comfortable outfit and these burgundy courts, even though I'm not entirely sure they deserve to be saved. I can't remember the last time I wore them (combination of a midi heel, a simple shape and the fact that they rise to high over my feet, so no toe cleavage) and I might still get rid of them at one point or another. Suffice to say that when these bad babies arrived, I ditched the burgundy and pulled on the cherries!

Part of the Lady Dragon club
I have no idea why I got these so cheap. But they sure make up for those terrible Louboutins. (theoutnet.com did provide me with a very quick full refund) I think it must have been a tiny mistake on the Asos website, since they were only down to 43 euro for about an hour or so. But I took advantage of it as soon as I saw.
At least I was right to suspect that the white they were labelled as, actually turned out to be the pretty beige version. These are actually gorgeous and they received a lot of compliments from colleagues today. The only thing that bothers me a bit is the smell. The fake bubblegum smell. I could do without, but hey, everyone has a cold nowadays anyway.

Shoe challenge #12: Dreams of red velvet

Jeans and pullover (H&M),
top (New Look) and shoes (Next)
First up, sorry for the blurry photo. It was 7:30 in the morning, I wasn't very with it. Hence the visible, very pale tummy. Anyway. It's a Tuesday, so I had to show you my red shoes of this week. I usually match my top with my shoes (instead of adapting the shoes to the outfit) and these court shoes from Next are definitely in my top10 of favourite shoes.

Hard to keep clean though.
They are microsuede, but remind me of velvet because of the texture, with different shades of red. And, foolishly, of Christmas. Don't ask me why. I usually combine these with a little red dress, the two go great together. Simple and easy yet effective. At 4 inches these are also very comfortable to walk around in, which helps when you need to commute between your desk and the printer.

Beautiful and comfy. What more could I want?

Shoe challenge #10: With a red bow on top

Jeans and tank top
(H&M), shirt (Zara)
and shoes (New Look)
It is a Ruby Shoesday and I just got new red shoes, so you know what that means! This morning it was quite cold and foggy out, so I decided to go with a simple outfit and make the shoes speak for themselves. And they did.
I already own these in pale pink (without the strap) and black (with a wedge), so of course I was doomed to absolutely love these. I prefer this leather look to the velvet, as I think it's more versatile as well as more practical in Belgian Autumn/Winter/Spring.

Don't you just love those little red bows peeking out?
I adore the colour as well. It's still a bright red, but I'd call it more of an ox' blood shade. Eww, that sounds dirty, but it's very pretty, I promise. I could've done without the thick black sole and of course you can't expect these to be the comfiest of shoes, but like my mother used to say (usually while she was combing the knots out of my hair): no pain, no gain. Even if literally in Flemish we say "those who want to be pretty need to be willing to suffer".

New shoes: red bow stilettos

New Look (£25)
What?! You can hardly expect me to get through 52 Ruby Shoesdays on only four pairs of red shoes. Even if I do have the regular stiletto in pale pink and the black wedge version of these. They're pretty! And cheap! New Look purchases are always so hard to feel guilty about, especially when they come in red.

Shoe challenge #7: It was a ruby shoesday

Dress and belt (H&M),
shoes (Asos)
With a regular day at the office and a dinner with friends on the agenda, I decided to go for a simple black dress. Of course I knew that that meant I could go all out with the shoes. This wrap dress has the cutest little bows on the back of the sleeves, which have a slightly puffy look to them. It fastens with a similar ribbon in the waist, but I decided to make it a bit more structured with a separate belt.
A lot more comfortable than they look!
Since it was Tuesday, I opted for my new red peeptoes. I love the colour, which is a bright yet deep red. I love the fact that the platform runs along the whole shoe, which makes them a lot easier to walk in than I expected. Even if I did get the 'that girl is crazy' look from passers-by. Best part though? I got tons of wows, including from one person that noted that they looked expensive. Nothing better than a double compliment!
