Shoe challenge #69: Bronze gladiator

I'm giving you all a very exclusive look into my life right here. This is what I look like when I come home from work. Obviously I wore proper heels all day, but as soon as I came home, it was chore time! I reorganized the dressing and did all the ironing. And yes, I only finished it all just now, after midnight. Oi, life can be hard sometimes. There was a particular reason for organizing my dressing, but we'll get to that later.

It's not the most flattering look (it did look better with coloured tights and black boots), but it does the trick just fine when you spend a couple of hours on your feet. Not a lot of people get to see these, they're strictly for household chores, gardening (as if I ever did) and long, long walks. They took a long time breaking in (the soles of my feet were ruined after the first day), but now they are comfy beyond words. Still not pretty though, but hey, at least my toe nails look cute, right? I love this baby blue, it cheers me up every time I look down!

Dress (H&M), shoes (Birkenstock) and nail polish (Model's Own).

Shoe challenge #47: The bronze age

Skirt (Zara), top (H&M),
tights (New Look) and
shoes (Red or Dead)
I just couldn't find an outfit for these shoes. I kept envisioning them with a plain LBD, and that's hardly a real outfit, now is it. And then I remembered my Christmas skirt, which has flecks of a goldish bronze in it and matches the shoes perfectly. I ended up looking a bit overdressed for work (one of my colleagues said I ressembled a New Year's present, aka giftwrapped), but who cares? I sure don't.
The photos don't really do the skirt any justice: it looks far more voluminous in real life and the colours are amazing, little flecks of goldish bronze and purple. Hence the top. Long story short, the outfit looked far better,  but I didn't feel like reshooting the photos. I'm lazy like that.

I really love the look of these shoes, they truly are a cheap alternative for the YSL heels and I'm eyeing the yellow suede ones on the Schuh website, but I would definitely order a size down next time. I ordered a 5, just to be on the safe side since I didn't own any Red or Dead shoes yet, but they are at least (!) a full size too big on the right foot, and half a size on the left.

No more shopping for me

So. The sales. I'm sure they didn't go unnoticed for you either. I went a little overboard. I'm not even going to mention my London purchases, but I did buy a couple of things online as well. Well, why try to explain when I can just show you? First up, the nudes.

This is what I mean when I say I go overboard. Once I'm into something, I can't get beyond it. Last month, nude shoes where one of those things. Clockwise: brogues and peep toe Mary Janes from Miss Selfridges and slightly darker ballet flats from Dorothy Perkins.
I adore the look of all of these shoes (which goes to show how versatile nude really is), but I have to mention the disappointing quality of the ones from Miss Selfridges. They don't seem that well finished, with a couple of chips and stretch marks on the uppers. As they were on sale, it would've been simply too expensive to send them back, but I would think twice about ordering from them again.

Now. My Schuh shopping spree. All three pairs have been lusted over here before. The red ones are the sisters of these and just too crazy sexy. The Irregular Choice Northern Floral wedges have been smiling at me since forever, and of course I wasn't able to resist the bronze YSL lookalikes. I think the image above sums up my eclectic taste in shoes pretty swell.
Add to that the three pairs I bought in London (all of which I have still to wear!) and the current state of my bank account, and I've gone completely overboard. And it's time to stop. FULL STOP. I have been having very itchy fingers lately, but so far I have resisted and haven't bought even one pair of shoes since I came back from my citytrip.
I will continue with my shoe challenge, but I need to give up buying tons of shoes. I no longer have storage space for them and I'm even starting to forget about certain pairs, which breaks my heart.
On top of that, I may have found a house. A house that could be a home, and all mine on top of that. Obviously, once I get myself into a loan with the bank, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't appreciate me internetshopping until I drop. It's time to cut back, it's for a good cause, and I'll just have to keep on repeating that to myself like oh... a thousand times a day.

Shoe challenge #30: A love-hate relationship

Boots (Le Coq Sportif),
everything else (H&M)
First of all, let me set the record straight, I do not like these shoes. Then why do I wear them, you ask? Well, because I do think they are kind of cool. But they are not comfortable. They may look like the most comfortable shoes in my entire collection, but believe me, that's just appearance. They are devious deceiving little monsters!
Every Winter I get these out to face the first snow. I put them on and I'm sure I can conquer any cold weather nature decides to throw at me. And then after an hour or so, they hurt. Let me be more precise: they start to hurt like hell. And in case of snow, I slip and slide. People think I'm completely bonkers, but I actually prefer walking through snow in high heels. I feel they have more grip (does not apply to ice mind you!) than flats.
These shoes have everything
I like the subdued craziness of these shoes: they feature four different materials, in brown, blue, beige, black and bronze. Which is why I bought them. Thinking they must be the most comfortable shoes ever in history. I was wrong. Very wrong. You probably won't see these again until next Winter.
