Shoe challenge #43: Cream snake

No outfit post today, I'm afraid. It was pouring rain this morning when I left for work, and I won't get home until late tonight, as I have a sushi and drinks date planned with my girls. But I will count this shoes as saved though, and tell you that I'm wearing them with this black dress.
The shoes aren't too comfortable today, for some reason they are pinching my feet in all the wrong places today. Just when I picked them because of their usual comfort level. I guess I'll be suffering quite a bit by tonight, but for now I've kicked them off underneath my desk. Sneaky, I am.

Athlete

I'm not completely on board with the hidden wedge sneaker trend, but that doens't mean you guys might not be! And as far as the style goes, this pair is certainly one of my favourites I've seen so far. I absolutely adore that cute little drum print, and I must say there is something alluring about a comfortable yet cool shoe. Still, these wouldn't exactly work with my wardrobe or my style. But, like I said, they might go splendidly with yours. All Topshop wants in return is your £75. They are real leather though, so they should be rather durable.

Alaïa

The Outnet is having a massive Alaïa sale, with discounts up to 70%, and so there are lots of pretty shoes and bags to be had (by those with money, because prices are still quite steep). These beautiful cutout sandals are the perfect example: even with 55% off, they'll still set you back €511.

Lucky for them they are gorgeous, so I have no doubt that someone will shell out the hard cash for these. Too bad it won't be me...

What's new at Zara?

New collections are upon us, and thus there are new shoes to be seen and had everywhere! Zara has been pleasing me a lot lately, and their new shoes are no exception. I wouldn't know which ones to pick first. Or actually, I do know, because I'm quite sure that I'll be stalking my local Zara for these amazing Charlotte Olympia-esque platforms! I wouldn't know which ones I would choose! I love the tan ones, but I looooove the red heel on the sand-coloured version. Dilemmas! You can pick one for £50.

I also really love this colour blocking heel, even if the shape is a bit clumsy. I don't own any shoes with this silhouette (pointy toe and chunky heel), but I love the colour combination. These are also £50, and would work well with Mad Men-inspired outfits.

Next up, pink! Of course this bootie was going to make this selection! It wouldn't fit in with my personal style, but that doesn't mean I don't like to look at it. A pair of these can be yours for £60.

And last but not least: these festive peep toes. They remind me a lot of these Blink platforms, but honesty commands me to admit that I liked those a tiny bit better. Still, these would make a great pair for a night out, so if you like them, you can hand over your £40 to Zara.

W

Not my usual style, because these are rather demure for my taste, but I'd wear them in the blink of an eye. This looks like the kind of shoe that can be worn anywhere, anytime, and still be comfortable enough to make it from day to night without blisters or other booboos. The price doesn't really hurt either, these can be yours for $65. I especially love the blue with the cream, it's a change from the usual black-cream/nude combos, but be sure to check out the other colour ways as well. There's a black-white version and a coral-cream one.

A dash of cream

Not bad Dorothy Perkins, not bad at all. In fact, I'm rather fond of these. I think I like this cream version best, but just last week I preferred the coral, so there's no knowing what I'll love most tomorrow. What I do know though, is that I like the little touch of metallic in the bow, the intricate strapping and especially the texture of the print on the platform and the heel. I think especially the touch of blue adds a lot more depth that the coral version lacks.

You're completely free to choose your own favourite though, and you can do so here for the cream and here for the coral. Both will cost you £42.

Net

These have a very burlesque feel to them, I think, what with the contrasting colours and the net overlay. I'm glad they have used the black netting moderately though, instead of covering the entire shoes with it, as it would have made them very heavy. This approach however, has left us with a pretty elegant and fresh sandal. I love the shape and the appliqué flower, but I'd have loved this shoe even better without the platform and with a cream heel. But hey, who am I to think I could do better? (I totally could though, right?)
If you love them, just the way they are (quote Bridget Jones, I soooo need another girly movie marathon!), you can get them at Dorothy Perkins for £45.

Meredith

I love these Charlotte Olympia wedges. They're a bit different from what I usually expect from CO, a bit more subdued maybe? Net-à-porter describes these as pin-up perfection, and while I agree with that, I think these sandals shine in their (relative) simplicity. I adore the neutral knotted canvas uppers with the bold stripe on the wedge, but what I certainly don't adore is the price tag: $945.

Coast is clear

I spotted these wedges over at Modcloth, and I would've never have guessed at first glance that they were Jessica Simpson, until my eagle eye noticed the logo on the innersole. I've never liked Jessica Simpson as a person, by which I mean as a singer or an actress, since I don't know her personally, but I have liked her shoe designs from the beginning. They're usually not the most innovative or original, but they fall within a good price range as well.
I love the tan leather with the cream coloured canvas and the stripes, but you already know by now how I feel about the placement of that ankle strap. Hello, stumpy legs! If you can see past that, you can pay $98 for them at Modcloth, or check out the navy or the orange version as well at Amazon for the same price.
