Shoe challenge #17: Venice

I love this dress. It is so flattering, and the light cotton feels great on your skin on warm days like we're experiencing now in Belgium. I love sunny days, it makes it so much easier to dress. No fuss layering stuff on top of each other: you just throw on a dress, some shoes, some earrings and you're good to go! I have a whole array of such dresses, but this one is definitely one of my favourites. I love the scenic print. I had my mum shorten the straps for me (it's a recurring issue that I have with dresses), but apart from that it fits me like a glove, while skimming the curves in just the right way.

These new shoes however, are an entirely different story. I mentioned already that they were a bit snug, and with the warm weather and slightly swollen feet because of the heat my feet were killing me by noon. I kicked them off for most of the day while I was at my desk. And then it was such a pain pushing my feet in again afterwards. Argh!

I'm still hanging in though, and am persistent to wear them in. Eventually. They're just so pretty (and much brighter than in the photos), and I will conquer in the end!

Sherbet colours

I may have overdone it with the shoes this month. For example, I ended up falling for these Forever 21 pumps I showed you earlier. And as I predicted, the pink pair won.
It was my first time ordering (or buying) something from Forever 21 and I had some difficulties with the sizing. In the end I went for a 37, which is quite snug, but I do think a 38 would have been too big on me. The heel is higher than I expected, but I'm not going to pretend I wasn't secretly happy about that. And the colour! It is so vibrant, I love it!

Also ended up in my mailbox: these yellow flats from New Look. They were extremely cheap and probably won't last more than one summer, but at least they're pretty. I will have to add some extra holes in the straps though, because try as I might, I can't keep them on while I walk, even if they are fine lengthwise.

Chunky black mary janes, check!

Since I'm a mere Belgian, far away from the affordable Forever 21, getting my hands on these chunky goodies was an idle dream. And these Carvelas I showed you a while back are just too expensive for me right now. So, I did what every greedy fashionista would do: I turned to my good friend eBay. And look what I found:

Budget option
To be entirely honest, I was digging the whole patent leather/chunky heel thing more, but if there's something I like on a shoe (besides, like, everything) it's satin. Especially black satin, since I don't have a shoe like that in my collection yet (as opposed to cobalt blue, fuchsia, purple, yellow, pink).
Things I would've liked better as well: a higher heel, a platform, a slightly rounder toe, a double strap instead of a single one. Things I do like: the price!

Love
I can just imagine wearing them with my new yellow poodle jacket and some coloured tights.
