Diamante

These Stuart Weitzman peep toes are really rather plain, until you look at that sophisticated bow. I love little ribbon bows, especially when they have bling on them. They would be perfect for any kind of cocktail/party occasion, and would work with virtually any outfit. As if all that wasn't enough, you can currently find them 60% off here, bringing them to an affordable €128.

Shoe challenge #65: Cars and ruffles

If you'd have told me a couple of years ago that I would happily dress in head-to-toe pink, I'd probably have called you a liar. Back then, I always clad myself in all black, my cherry red Dr. Martens only leaving my feet when I went to bed. Oh, how times have changed. Though I can't say I've ever been happier with my personal style.

Believe it or not, this was actually an office outfit. I figured a strapless summer dress would be slightly too bare for work, so I made due with a tank top underneath. White would have been better than black, I feel, but since the dress isn't whitewhite, I didn't have a perfect match.

My pink shoes with the ruffle skirt don't get out nearly enough, as satin usually means evening attire. But I figured: who even cares?! I certainly don't, and not one person mentioned anything. I might have to start my own Facebook page "Satin cocktail shoes on the office floor!"...

Shoe challenge #62: Yellow

Last weekend we went on a trip to my favourite amusement park: the Efteling in the Netherlands. My mum lives near the border so it's only a short car ride away, which is why I grew up with it. We went every year, and I still like to keep that tradition. Since a couple of years though, the park is open in Winter as well, which makes for an entirely different experience with fake snow, Christmas market stalls, twinkling lights everywhere, carolers and big bonfires. I think the park is way more beautiful than Disneyland Paris or Phantasialand (Germany), and it's the place where I always feel happiest. Which is why you can see me here dancing in the waiting line of a ride.

The park is not too big, as you can definitely do most of the attractions in one day, but it's still a lot of walking around, so I opted for sensible shoes. These satin leopard print flats still needed saving, so voilĂ ! Throw on a casual (lace) dress in a bold colour and a gold belt, and you're (or at least I am) all set to go.

You haven't really been to the Efteling without having your picture taken on one of the musical toadstools (they play Bach) in Sprookjesbos, it's tradition! I was already getting up here, so this year's photo isn't the best one ever, but still, look at how happy I am!

At the end of the day, my feet still hurt like crazy, but it was such a fun time to be spending with my friends, we had an absolute blast. And we already made plans to go back next Winter...

Leafs

Honestly, how could I not show you these McQueen peep toes before the weekend? These have a very bridal feel to them, being ivory satin and all, so they wouldn't get much use in my life, but if you're a bride-to-be with shoe size 40 and an excellent fashion sense, I'd suggest you run over to The Outnet and snag up a pair at 40% off.

Just look at that back detail! Totally worth €630, no? No? Uhm...

Shoe challenge #60: Twist

I thought you're probably not tired of my Dorothy Perkins dresses yet, so I thought I'd show you the one that started it all. Unfortunately this one is a whole lot shorter than the others. But I love the busy print, and I actually don't even mind the green dots. Today I decided to play out the purple with my satin Zara peep toes. I even thought about adding a purple cardigan, but thought that would probably be a bit too much, so picked this white one instead.

The shoes are still too big, and in desperate need of some heel grips. By the end of the day they had gotten truly uncomfortable. I figured I might as well wear them to work though, even if they are satin and more evening-appropriate. I'm guessing I'll have to find some way to make all my "party shoes" work during the day, or they'll never get saved. I have a few weddings on my social calendar for next summer though, so I'm sure they'll get their proper place in the spotlight eventually.

I must say, I'm always surprised at how sophisticated these look. If I saw someone at a cocktail party wearing these, I would never guess they were Zara. The pleating on the toe is so delicate and exquisite. Simple yet elegant.

On a more general note, I was very surprised to see that I have managed to save no less than twenty pairs of shoes this month! Woop woop! I'm definitely planning to continue my winning streak this weekend, but I'll be staying at my mum's place so all shoe challenge posts won't go online until next week.

Shoe challenge #54: Birthday stripes

28. Pfew, how time flows by. Still, I absolutely love being the birthday girl, with all the attention and presents and partying that goes with it. Last night, on my birthday itself, the boyfriend and I went out to our favourite restaurant, but unfortunately the poor dear started feeling really unwell so we made it an early night.

My hair was still wet, which is why it's such a total mess. I always let it dry naturally, so every day it's a mystery how it will turn out. Some days are good, some days are, well, less good.

Nothing to do with shoes, this photo, but I liked it so much I just had to include it. I adore the colourful swirly stripes on the dress, and you know I always love it when dresses come with their own little belts. Double score!

I thought my Keanahs would be the perfect birthday shoe, as the exagerated bows remind me of presents, and last night was the perfect occasion to wear them for the very first time. They're not an exact match to the dress, but I dare anyone to tell me they're not perfect for each other.

Black crystal

I love these. Now don't get me wrong, I'm still not completely on board with the pin needle heel. But these, these I can stand the sight of. I might even allow them on my own feet. That said, these aren't any plain old pair of pin needle heels though. These Giuseppe Zanotti booties are completely covered in black crystals, which is the main reason why I like them so much. Because, you know, I rarely meet a stud or a crystal I don't like.

These booties will remain the subject of my dreams however, as The Outnet is still charging €598 for them (as opposed to the original €1195, but still way too much for my budget) and most sizes are completely sold out. If you can't say no to these though, feel free to splurge on them here.

Dazzle

How adorable are these? Damn you Shoeaholics, for not delivering outside of the UK!!! If you are lucky enough to live on British soil however, you can make these yours for £69 instead of £120.

Norma

These are pretty. Highly unpractical with their peach satin uppers, but still very pretty. I'm in love with those glitter bows on the back of the slingback.

Kurt Geiger, can you make these in a sturdier upper please? I promise to buy them. (if you do something about that £160 price tag as well)

Jitterbug

Oooooh, it's nice to reach your goals. Or at least one of them. This time? I can cross these Kurt Geiger Jitterbugs off my wishlist. I must have been hunting after them for about a year now, but they rarely pop up on eBay and every time they did, I got outbid. But not this time, no.
I can't even begin to describe how pretty these are. They exceed all my expectations. Especially the beatle on the toe is to die for! But to be completely honest, I was holding out for a pair of size 4's. These are a 5. So I cheated, but oh, was I worried that they would slip off! I needn't have fretted though, because these are actually quite snug even, especially on my left foot, which is slightly bigger than the right.

Anyone

I can't believe it took me so long to notice these! I hadn't been to the Kurt Geiger website in a while (you know, with the shopping detox and all), but man, are these a sight for sore eyes! There's also a suede nude version, but these multicoloured polka dots just took my breath away.
They look like such a fun shoe to brighten up any cocktail dress, and they'd be perfect with a colour blocking outfit (as the colours are already there) or even with skinny jeans. I'm in luuurrrrrrvv. Too bad they're £100 though, as I've already spent my March shopping budget on that Karen Millen LBD and a denim shirt.

Stiletto clutch

How cute is this little Christian Louboutin clutch? I love the fuchsia pink (deuh!),  the pleading and the stiletto detail on the clasp. Genious. Too bad it doesn't actually look quite as expensive as the $896 it actually costs, or at least I don't think so. If you think it's actually worth this amount, you're out of luck, because it's sold out at Net-Ă -Porter.

Party LK Bennett

These shoes make me wish I had some ridiculously elegant Christmas party to go to. But without the promise of a suitable occasion, these shoes wouldn't get the exposure they deserve. So it's up to some other lady to let these shine. A timeless shape and a colour that goes with almost anything, what more could you want? Except maybe £195 to actually buy them... Even with £100 off there's still too much for my current budget.

I wouldn't exactly mind $2184 to buy this amazing Rochas dress to go with them either... Secret Santa, anyone?

Shoe challenge #86: Dot the I's

After a weekend full of sunshine (ironically enough, after the tropical storm on Thursday) the weather today was back to regular Belgian mode. So I stuck to a simple outfit, not too fussy. After all, I did get a bit of a tan during the weekend, which was more than I had hoped for. To me this look stranded somewhere in between flamenco dancer and rockabilly. But I liked it nonetheless. Must be because of the dress.

I always forget how crazy I am about this dress, I bought it for a special occasion six years ago. It seems so funny that I used to consider this to be dressed up. Old Daisy would think new Daisy is so over the top! Anyway, I love it because it's a) boobylicious b) I'm crazy about polka dots and c) it drapes beautifully around the waist and makes it look tiny. The shoes were a find on eBay, but what I really wanted were the Miu Miu lookalikes from Forever21. But these will have to make do, even if they're a bit more Wednesday Adams than intended.

Shoe challenge #52: Fuchsia overload

Rain coat (George), jeans (H&M)
and ballet flats (New Look)
The shoe challenge is really coming along! I think I might be finishing sooner than expected, especially since I will probably be getting rid of some shoes when moving house in two weeks. This outfit is from last week, when we had a few grey days. Luckily we have nice sunny weather again at the moment, so I'm back in my lemon dress today, yippy! (more specifically with these shoes, but since this is a shoe challenge blog and not a daily outfit one, no pictures, snorry)

When thinking about what goes well with hot pink, I only have one answer to that question: more hot pink!! I could just pile on the pink until I'm about to suffocate in it. But suffocate in a good way, of course. I love how these New Look ballet flats have glittery jewels (big ass jewels, even!) on them. I'm not always one for the subtil approach. Oh well, who am I kidding. Subtil, me? Hahahahaha.

Here's my beef with this shoes. As you can see, they're already completely ruined in the back. The other shoe looks even worse! After one day of wearing them, the satin was completely rubbed through. Bollocks. No way to repair them either. I guess I'll only wear them with long trousers... Sorry pink bejewelled ballet flats, no skirts for you!

Shoe challenge #50: Paint the roses purple

We went out celebrating one of my best friends' birthday yesterday night, so I decided to wear yet another of my new New Look dresses. Wearing a pretty dress and a pretty pair of shoes is really all I need in an outfit to feel happy. I decided to coordinate with the bits of purple in the dress, instead of using the blues.

I just love this bow ribbon detail in the back, as well as the exposed zipper, which gives this otherwise romantic look a more modern vibe.

I have almost never ever worn these shoes, even if I think they are absolutely stunning. They are a bit too big though, and I have to be very careful not to lose them while I walk. And I do always tend to think my toes look wonky in them. Still, I was ademant that the twisted satin over the toes is too pretty not to be worn, and I'll do my very best to keep wearing them. For an evening of getting to the pub, sitting down and getting back home, they were fine. A very reasonable heel as well, as you can see.

Pretty evening wedges

I know I've been a bad bad blogger this weekend. But hey, there are wedding preparations going on! I got a haircut, finally picked out my dress (out of three options, all Karen Millen) and went shopping with the Boy. I picked him out some grownup clothes, he'll be so handsome come Saturday! And I even managed to dodge all Daisy-related shopping. How I do that? Not go into any shops unless they sell men's clothes. As easy as 1-2-3!
It looks like we will be having beautfil weather here next weekend (and all week), very sunny yet chilly, so I'll maybe even be able to wear my fabulous red Karen Millen coat as well. You bet there will be photos!

So, to start off a new shoetastic week, a pair of pretty shoes. I'm loving these Carvela wedge sandals, specifically the bejeweled oversized bow. In fact, I wouldn't have featured them were it not for the bow. Yeay for the bow! All hail the bow!! (I get a bit batcrazy on Monday mornings, I think I need some sugar. Or possibly less sugar)
I must admit these are not the most versatile shoes, what with all the black satin, but if you'd like a pair on your feet, they are €131 at Asos.

Jewellery for your ankles

A rather busy day at work today, but there's a new Shoe challenge post coming up and I wanted to pop in quickly to show you these stunning Karen Millen Beaded Necklace sandals. Want to see them in action? Because I sure do.

I love the ancient Egyptian feel of the beading, and we all know how I love my purple satin. Gaaah. Only trouble I'm having with these is the 'flatness' of the front. Maybe my judgement is getting clouded after seeing so many platforms around lately. Oh well. Still fabulous. You can get the purple version over at Asos (€184 though), hop over to the Karen Millen website for the black.

Shoe challenge #42: And it was all yellow

Skirt and top (H&M), cardigan (Zara) and shoes (Berschka)
Another pair of shoes that I've probably worn a little bit too much. These are shiny satin, which makes them really difficult to maintain, but the bright yellow colour always pursuaded me to wear these mostly during daytime. I've worn them to university classes, to dates and to work. There were times when I would hardly take them off my feet. Which left its traces on the fabric, sadly enough.

They were one of the very first pairs of high heels I ever bought, and they actually served as a little pick me up after a painful breakup. Back then I remember thinking they had such a sky high heel, but now I'm thinking that's all relative. I do love the triangular shape of the heel, which makes them just a bit more interesting, and the chunkiness of it makes these so incredibly comfortable to wear.
*edit* I just realized that they look like wedges in this picture, which, I assure you, they are not. Damn you sneaky shadow!

Too bad the fabric is a bit torn on the insides of my feet (but still on the outside of the shoe), which does decrease their attractiveness quite a bit. All shoes have to go to heaven eventually, I just dread the fact that that moment always comes too soon... It's the main reason why I tend to wear new shoes more often, and 'save' up on the older pairs.
Do you do this as well? Not wear your favourite shoes because they are too close to being totally worn down?
