Shoe challenge #59: Baby blues
Remember when I went on and on last week about not having matching shoes for this dress? Well, I tried, but I still don't. These Lindsey flats are more baby blue than actual turquoise. They don't match exactly, but the problem lies mainly with the belt, because I think these ballet flats match the dots themselves pretty well. But. BUT! I may look happy in these photos, but these shoes were murder for my feet. They are the king and queen of uncomfortable. Just another lesson learned, I guess, to check some reviews before I actually buy the shoes. Because, guess what, pretty much every person on the internet who has these, has warned the rest of the internet that they run very small. And oh yes, order a size up.
I wore them all last night with socks, and I thought they had stretched a bit, until I had left for work. And I got off my bicycle. That's when the pain kicked in. Luckily I had a spare pair for those rare moments when I had to walk more than a couple of metres. I was stubborn throughout the day though, by wearing them whilst sitting at my desk. They will be broken in, damnit! Victory will be mine (eventually).
They are pretty though. I love how the bows are a bit different from the "standard" bow. You can still get them here, but remember, buy a size up...

Shoe challenge #28: Feeling blue
Let's be clear: I hate these photos. It must be the angle or something, but it seems like I have no waist whatsoever. The dress, as you know, I wear all the time.
The shoes however are pretty new. I got them on eBay, and even though they are now officially saved, I'm not entirely sure that I will keep them. They cut too high on the foot, which not only makes them slightly uncomfortable, but also a bit dated. I love me some toe cleavage! And I do love to flaunt my foot tattoos...

Lemon drops
I wouldn't neceralliry buy or wear these myself, but I think they are cool enough to show you all three colour ways.
They follow the SS trend with the pastel colours, which is probably the main reason why these won't end up on my shoe shelves. I guess they remind me too much of Easter. The perspex gives them a sixties mod vibe though which I love, even if I don't know how attractive it'll make your toes look.
New Look is only charging £28 for them, which, as usual, is a steal.

Cloud
Baby blue is not a colour you'll easily find in my wardrobe, but I could be tempted by these Nelly mary janes, appropriately named 'Cloud'. I adore the general shape and the little tassel detail in front, and I so so wish they had made these available in other colour ways as well, since I know a colour like this one doesn't go with anything I own. I realize pastels will be big this summer, but I "don't do" pastels. And these shoes almost make me regret it.
If you are the queen of pastels though, get your own pair here. At £40, that shouldn't be such a hard decision...

Pastels
It's not even Summer yet, and already I'm getting sick of pastels, mainly because I never wear them myself. The shops are filled to the brim with pale pinks, yellows and blues, and my only resort is to buy my summer wardrobe online, where I can still find bright colours. Two weeks ago I had some quality time with my mum, and we both returned home empty handed from our shopping trip. Luckily, I more than made up for it with my online purchases. Internet, I love you!
As much as I like the shape of these, I'd only really wear the blush ones, and they make me wish that they would produce these in brighter colours. I seem to remember New Look had a similar style in corn yellow and burgundy a while back, but why not a turkoise or raspberry pink? Just venting some ideas, just in case New Look is listening in...

Shoe challenge #36: In mint condition
| Skirt and tights (New Look), fuchsia top (street market in Bangkok), ballerina wrap top (WE) and shoes (Primark, through eBay) |
I don't like wearing them though. First of all, I'm obsessed with keeping them pristine. Second, they are just not comfortable. They turned out a size too big (about sizing issues in shoes, read here), but too narrow in width. Adds up to: uncomfy. It put some insoles in, but they still slip of my feet as soon as I try to pick up some speed and they pinch the side of my left foot. Grrrrrr!!
Still, they are too pretty to give them up and clueless and naive as I sometimes am, I keep hoping they'll magically have become easier to wear next time I put them on. No such luck though. I wore them with my shoes and bags skirt, that I bought from this lovely shoe lover, and thus added minty green and bright pink to an otherwise black outfit.
And now onto the real start of the shoeper challenge: Monday (Valentine's day). I know exactly which shoes (and which outfit) I'm going to wear. And you?
