Green love
Like you all know (because I mention it a million times), I'm not a lover of green shoes. Yeah, I know, sue me. For these though, I'd gladly make an exception. After all, who can say no to butterflies? Lace butterflies! And a cute bow! I still don't own any Iron Fist in my collection (how the hell did that happen, or uhm, not happen?), but I'm thinking it may be time to change that. Meanwhile, these are waiting for you at New Look, for £80.

Shoe challenge #23: Twirling colours
This outfit is so old, I can't even remember! I've had both the dress and the shoes for years now, and especially the dress is a "go to" piece whenever I don't feel inspired. And today was such a day. I overslept and it was a rainy day, which made it extra hard to get dressed.
Even though this is the easiest of outfits in my book, it still stands out in the crowd because of the bright colours. I was quite disappointed in the shoes though, as I remembered them to be quite comfortable. But because it had been a while since I wore them last, they felt a bit hard. Too hard, because I have a huge blister on my heel right now. Guess they taught me a lesson: I need to get them out more!

Filthy landlubber
I love it when a certain shoe appears in several variations. Usually designers opt for a certain shape in different colours, but sometimes they just use a very cool upper and rework it into several shapes. Iron Fist is the only brand I know that does this pretty much always. At the very minimum, they launch a ballet flat and a high heeled pump of a certain style.
And that when I noticed this gorgeous pirate-inspired/rockabilly upper, with skulls in sailor hats, moons and flowers. The first version I saw of it, was this T-barred peep toe wedge. I love it, but it's not perfect. I wouldn't kept the ankle strap and the touch of tan on the toe, but without the extra strap going up the foot. This one is £80 at New Look.
This court version with peep toe and bow is also available at New Look, and seems to be more popular and a bit cheaper (£65) than the wedges.
Those who prefer less heel might love these ballet flats from the Schuh website. At £35, they're a steal.
But the ones that I would commit mutiny for (har har!), are these chunky heeled sandals. The perfect ratio of tan and print, and they look genuinely comfortable. If only I had £75 lying around...

Danger Pauly
That's a rather fetching shoe I thought, at first glance. The bow seems a bit strange, though, was my second thought. And of course, as these are Irregular Choice, there is something off about this bow. Mainly because it isn't a bow at all. Oh no, those are bat wings! Don't believe me?
Boo! Only Irregular Choice would pull a stunt like that. How very Dracula of them. If you like a little horror on your feet, these Danger Pauly's are down to £40.

Pastels
It's not even Summer yet, and already I'm getting sick of pastels, mainly because I never wear them myself. The shops are filled to the brim with pale pinks, yellows and blues, and my only resort is to buy my summer wardrobe online, where I can still find bright colours. Two weeks ago I had some quality time with my mum, and we both returned home empty handed from our shopping trip. Luckily, I more than made up for it with my online purchases. Internet, I love you!
As much as I like the shape of these, I'd only really wear the blush ones, and they make me wish that they would produce these in brighter colours. I seem to remember New Look had a similar style in corn yellow and burgundy a while back, but why not a turkoise or raspberry pink? Just venting some ideas, just in case New Look is listening in...

Picasso
Let's start with the good news. I love this colour combo. These heels may not be as bright as I usually prefer them, but I think the nude, tan and mint work well together. And I would have loved this shoe completely if the designers would have stopped at the general shape and maybe even a mint mary jane strap. What ruins it completely for me is that T-bar and the extra ankle strap. It's just too much. Might be why they decided on the name Picasso... These don't come cheap either, but for €133 you do get real leather.

Shoe challenge #87: Birthday girl
The look for my 27th birthday. And it was a great one. The birthday, I mean. I went to sleep at midnight with a lovely message from a special someone, and I woke up still smiling. Once I arrived at work, I was greeted by a desk with a nice card, my favourite breakfast and some flowers, courtesy of my amazing colleagues. They truly are amazing, by the way. The entire day I received lots of sweet messages, and I just felt so incredibly loved and blessed to have all those wonderful people in my life.
This was the first time I wore the shoes or the dress, long overdue if you ask me. All my detail shots of the shoes turned out bad, so you must make due with the explanation: they are cherry/hot pink T-bars from Dorothy Perkins, but I hunted them down on eBay.
I did some special effort on my nails as well, by painting them a metallic hot pink and adding glitters in the same colour. I call them my birthday nails, and I still can't stop looking at them and smiling, even as I'm typing this post. The yellow belt accentuated the yellow in the print, and I can't even begin to express how much I wear that particular belt. It's quickly become on of my wardrobe staples.
I love the print on the dress, it's very English and summery, but not so summery that it's only suitable on a hot day. Yesterday it was soft and warm outside, with just the right amount of sun, and the dress was perfect for such weather. I especially love the deep V and the bow detail in the back.
We're actually approaching the end of my shoe challenge, and according to Shoeperwoman Amber herself I might probably be the first one (after herself of course, with last year's shoe challenge) to finish it. So exciting! Four days, three pairs of shoes left (not counting the sequin ones that I seem to have misplaced) and one of those three is currently on my feet.
