Damsel
Sometimes you run into a pair of shoes that catch you by surprise. As did these Jeffrey Campbell Damsels. I didn't expect to like them, but I guess the chart print won me over in the end. And they remind me a lot of my Asos Ablaze boots. If you're rather keen on these however, you can get them here for $190, but only if you happen to be a US 6, as they're completely sold out in all other sizes

Forget
I'm not necessarily crazy about the design itself, but that print had my heart fluttering. It's so fun and vibrant! I won't be spending my $145, but maybe you want to? The style comes in a myriad of different uppers, but I would be very afraid of the big bad ankle strap.

Quilted Lita
The strangest thing just happened: I figured this version of Jeffrey Campbell's infamous (you either love them or you hate them) looked sort of Louboutin-esque. I guess it's because that fierce toecap reminds me so much of Louboutin's Asteroid. I'm still not a fan of the Litas, but if you're going to wear them, at least make them crazy-ass. These are currently out of stock, so you will not be able to spend your $185 on them, but perhaps you can still find them elsewhere.

Starynite
So far I've only found these at Karmaloop, and I have promised myself to not by from the States for a little while, but if that won't hold you back, you can get them here. They're $190, which is not bad for a very distinctive shoe. You know they're the perfect shoe to start the weekend with...

Shoe challenge #41: Ombre hues
New shoes, so you just know I had to wear them as soon as possible. I decided to play up the ombre effect of these crocheted platforms with my mustard yellow shirt dress, and I quite liked the result. I had a sushi date with my BFF after work, which explains the rather grainy, unfocused and underlit photos (taken at 10.30 PM).
I must say, I absolutely adore these shoes, but I do not like ankle straps. Am I the only one who can't handle the rubbing? The backs of my feet are killing me right now, I'll have to think carefully about which shoes to wear next...

You asked for it
Look what popped into my inbox a couple of days ago. Oh, the irony! When I think about how much effort it took for those shoes to get here... But yes, you've read that correctly, they are finally here. I will have to reconsider buying from the States though, as I've been paying my ass off on customs fees and taxes. They almost cost as much as the shoes themselves! I've got the idea that I pay more whenever I buy discounted items, it's as if they add up the discount to the customs fees, and I end up paying just as much as I would have before the sales.
The Bette platforms are definitely a lot nicer than I had expected. For a purchase that was essentially an afterthought, they are stunning in the flesh.
The colours are much more vibrant, the crochet lace is gorgeous and elegant, and they'll look good even with tights come wintertime. And the best part? They are very comfortable, the US7 fits me perfectly as usual with Jeffrey Campbell shoes, and the padded soles make all the difference.
Bonus points for the major toe cleavage! Ssssexy!!
The pair of shoes that all the fuss was about, the Rockettes, are a bit of a letdown actually. They are gorgeous, as I was convinced they would be, but the sizing is completely off. When I tried them on this afternoon, it was tight but bearable. I could walk in them. Tonight, it has proven to be damn near impossible to get my feet in.
Lengthwise I can barely fit in them, but the problem sits within the very narrow toe box. My Daisy D's are narrow in the front as well, but at least I can get my feet in. I don't really understand the problem, as all my other pairs of Jeffrey Campbells are all size 7's and I've had no (real) problems with any of those. With the massive taxes I've paid for them, I guess there's nothing left for me to do but to try and stretch them out a bit. I'll keep you guys posted, that's for sure!

Roxie Spike
Meet Roxie Spike. Those Jeffrey Campbell rocking wedges that I've been losing my mind over? Yeah, they make boots with that platform as well. With studs. Major fierceness! I might as well get it over and done with and just hand over my money now, right?
At $265, these will have to go on the wishlist though (and possibly forever remain there).

Shopping spree
Since my London shopping was kinda disappointing, I've been going crazy with the online shopping these last few days. I had counted on maybe buying a pair of Loubs, so I had a bit of a budget as well. I thought I'd give you girls a little preview of the shoes that are on their way to me.
First, I've decided to give Nasty Gal another try, since they really seem to be the online website who stocks up on those Rockette platforms I'm so hung up on. They did give me $25 credit though, after the last negative experience, so I decided to throw in a pair of these Bette crochet platforms as well, as they were already on sale and I really dig the ombre-like effect.
Next up I finally gave into the Asos Ablaze boots, in the scribble print. I'd been eyeing them for a long time ever since I saw them on this shoe girl, and they had finally come down enough in price to justify such a crazy purchase. I also scored some collateral damage (you're placing an order anyway, and suddenly these other things end up in your virtual shopping cart as well): Asos Prop courts in multi geo. With both shoes, it was the print that did me in. I'm just hoping I'll find a way to style them, as I seem to have gone nuts over prints lately.
And finally, I saw these new boots on New Look that reminded me so much of the studded boots from River Island aka "the ones that got away" (seriously, they're still selling on eBay for more than the original price), that I just had to have them. And I threw in a pair of Converse-like sneakers in a beautiful white broderie anglaise, since I'm wearing my turkoise pair a lot more than I would have thought.
How in the world am I ever going to bring the shoe challenge to a good end? (I am already way behind on my posting, I still have a couple of challenges to show you)

Shoe challenge #21: Hotdogs and polka dots
You've already seen the daytime version of this outfit, but in the evening I switched shoes. I have been dying to wear these Jeffrey Campbell Carmens, and finally the time has come for them to venture outside. Again, these are quite narrow across my foot, but still more comfortable than I would've thought.
Still loving the dress, so I thought I'd show you a close-up of it, so you can really see the print properly. It. Is. Amazeballs. It has even has pockets! Sheer perrrrrfection!
Added bonus: because it has so many colours in it, you can wear it with literally any colour shoe. Oooooh, the possibilities! Maybe I'll just wear this dress for all the other shoe challenges.*

Shoe challenge #20: Red and blue
Another from last weekend. Not even I could pull this dress off for a day at the office. Not without a cardigan anyway. Let's say that it's even skimpier from the back.
See? Told you. Not work appropriate. It was the first time that I got to wear this dress, and I matched it to the little bows on my shoes. I love the look of these Daisy D's, but just like all Jeffrey Campbell shoes, they are very narrow across the foot on me. We had a little BBQ with friends on Sunday, and I kicked these off while I was munching on all that deliciousness.
Still very pretty though.

Dauphine
More flats! These are by Jeffrey Campbell (sometimes the man does get it right) and I think they're adorable. The nude will look good with bare legs in summer, but the studs and the black leather trim allows them to transition well in into winter with tights. And although I won't be spending €126 on them, I didn't want to keep them from you either.

Float
Oh Jeffrey, I don't know how you do it. How do you come up with both my most beloved shoes and the ugliest shoes in the world?? You crack me up, and not always in a good way.

Not a happy puppy
It's been almost a month since I wrote about my Rockette victory, in which I scored the final pair of those amazing Jeffrey Campbell wedges. You have not seen those shoes appear on my blog though. I have been breaking my brain thinking of how to put my experience in words, and the key word is disappointment, to say the least. After I finally scored these babies, I was crazy with anticipation. I couldn't wait until their arrival. Sadly, my joy was short-lived.
No less than five days after my order confirmation (I was already wondering why the dispatching took so long), I received an email saying that Nasty Gal had "updated my order". I was informed that the Rockette platform was now out of stock, and that I was refunded my money and received $15 store credit. I don't get how it can suddenly be sold out. As soon as I hit the "pay now" button, the shoes disappeared from the website, just as they should have. So I wrote them an angry mail. And received $10 extra, as well as the promise that they would restock this item on the 30th of June.
I'm very curious to see if they will indeed get restocked, and am still contemplating whether or not I dare to take the plunge again. I had my eye on a couple of other styles as well (I love JC's Safety platforms, as well as the red Annabella), but I'm not sure how I feel about Nasty Gal's customer service after this disappointing experience. I guess we'll have to wait first and see whether they'll stick to their promise.
Have you ever had underwhelming experiences while shopping online?

Over the moon
I'm beside myself right now. I thought all was lost, and then fate dealt me a lucky hand. For months I have been deliberating over these Rockette platforms from Jeffrey Campbell. Months! At first, I was afraid they were a bit too extravagant, even for me. Until I decided I had to have them. Yes, I would dare to wear them! I would ignore all the crazy glances cast my way.
And then, you guessed it, they sold out. All of a sudden. One moment there were still some pairs (and some sizes) left, the next day they had disappeared off the website. While I was waiting for payday to come around, someone had gotten to them first.
I started "the hunt". I googled them, but only found the snake print version. (which is nice, but not as nice as the leopard) Nothing even turned up on eBay, except for these, which I find rather ugly. There was nothing left for me to do but to check out the Nasty Gal website every day, hoping and wishing and praying that someone would send them back. And today, they appeared like a magic genie from a bottle. Only one pair, just my size! Granted, they were pretty pricey for an impulsive purchase (it took me about a minute and a half from squeal to checkout), but then again, I don't think these count as impulsive anymore, do you?
I can't wait until these show up! I just hope that whomever sent them back, did it because they couldn't walk in them and not because something's wrong with them. Oh! Excited!
Viscious
Say what you want about Jeffrey Campbell, but at least the man knows how to put on a good show. His designs are usually different and sometimes even too "out there" to be even wearable (or at least what my feet are concerned), but these Vicious platforms are nothing but real showstoppers, nothing more, certainly nothing less.
I'd be a bit worried walking in these, but man oh man, do I love those neon pink studs! They look more or less bright depending on the angle, but I love the subtle play with the pink, including that adorable pink buckle! The green version looks pretty amazing as well.
I love them, but I'm not sure if I love them more than $210 in my pocket, even if I just got my summer bonus. If you know you want to shell out some hard cash for these, hurry over to Solestruck, because I expect these to sell out fast! (in some colours and sizes they already have)

Shoe challenge #7: Grey+yellow
I told you you'd see this outfit again, and I wasn't lying. I paired my trusty grey dress with one of my alltime favourite shoes: my sunshine wedges from Jeffrey Campbell. I took me forever to take the plunge and actually buy these, since they had to come from the US, but I'm so happy I eventually did before they completely sold out. They are worth double their money! I wear them ALL.THE.TIME. They are so comfortable, and yellow goes with everything. Or at least that's my opinion...
As seen in last year's Shoe Challenge: with a yellow dress and purple tights.

Suspect
I... don't know. I hate the silver buckles on these, but dude, I can't stop looking at them. I don't know how comfortable those clear plastic straps would be, but I do think I would wear them. Just look how awesome they look from the side! Or they elegant? No. But are they fun? Ooooh, you bet!
I do think Jeffrey Campbell has been on a roll lately, increasing his success/massive failure ratio. I have been falling in love with a lot of his designs... Or maybe that just means I'm slowly losing my mind. After all, I'm the crazy shoe blogger that likes these clear plastic uppers. Yes, you may declare me a madwoman now. If you must. Or you can agree with me and get the shoes. You could do that too.

Outfit: Stripes meet flowers
This outfit is already a week old, it's actually from last Monday but I've been too lazy to upload my pictures. The blue top has been in my closet for two years, maybe even more, and I had never worn it before because, honestly, I didn't know what to do with it. I had the idea to pair it with a posh striped shirt, and that made me think of combining stripes with flowers. Et voilĂ ! An outfit was born!
I was pretty happy with myself, as you can tell. If I could only save three pairs of shoes from my burning house, these would be pair number one to be rescued. My Jeffrey Campbell Sunshine wedges are most definitely in my top 3. They are incredibly comfy, and I love how they change colour according to the light. They're actually bright yellow, but they can seem lime green or even orange.
Skirt: Zara - shirt and top: H&M - shoes: Jeffrey Campbell.

Shazzam!
I love these. Sue me.
The tribal sandals are (of course) Jeffrey Campbell and you can get them at NastyGal for $158.

Jeffrey Campbell LOVE
Jeffrey Campbell's designs are not everyone's cup of tea, I realize that. And as much as I love the JC pairs that I do own, it's very often hit and miss with his designs. I myself am one of that rare breed of shoe bloggers that dislike the (in my opinion) heavily overrated Litas, but I feel that lately he has been knocking it out of the ballpark. A little peek at the 'new in' section on Solestruck made me giddy, even.
I think the above shoes will probably be the most controversial, but I dig them. I've actually quite loved the regular Nightwalk since they came out, especially in black suede, and I may love this pimped out version even more. These feature rows of nails along the back, and are appropriately called Night Nail. There's also a slightly heavier version with screws called Nightware. They're $200, but unfortunately I wouldn't know where to wear them anyway. If anyone has these though, please let us know in the comments if they are walkable. Sharing is caring!
I'm also loving this summer version called Str8up, especially with the wooden wedge, and at $150 they are less of an investment than the Nightwalks.
There are also some more feminine designs, such as this Day2 (above - $155) and Sabine (below - $125) sandals. I adore the curvy heel on the first and the minimalism and the pink colour of the latter.
I can even appreciate Danger, an edgier version of Day2, although I wish the spikes were smaller. If you're feeling a little S&M chick, they can be yours for $150, and you'll be sure to turn some heads.
I guess you can't learn an old dog new tricks after all...
