1071

Me, I'm seriously in love with my Blade peep toes from Casadei. And I wouldn't exactly say no to these babies either. I guess Casadei knows how to rock my world. Again they excell with the heel, be it an entirely different one.

Isn't that amazing? I'm not completely convinced about the general shape of the shoe itself, but the hollow wedge-like heel pulls me over the edge. Too bad these puppies still cost £279, even after a hefty discount. They won't appear on my shoe shelves any time soon, but they're still pretty to look at.

Sierra

After keeping these candy pink platforms in my wishlist for a couple of weeks, I've finally taken them out. I guess that if I haven't bought them yet, I'll never will. I do still like them though, and thought you might as well.

I think they look particularly nice from the side, as they remind me a lot of both Jessica Simpson's Dany and Jeffrey Campbell's Foxy. They have a similar shape, with a massive platform and ditto heel, and feature both the wood finishing and the exposed platform in the front, but without the T-strap. I think these have a lovely retro feel to them, and of course I'm a big fan of the pink. You can get these in nude and black as well though, and they'll only set you back £29!

Shoe challenge #42: Cookies

I felt like doing something completely different today. So I did. I switched things up like it was nobody's business. No bare legs, and no cleavage in sight (even if the boobies are kind of my trademark). Also, maybe I was too lazy to shave my legs this morning. Hooray for maxi skirts!

I thought my Dany's would look good with a maxi skirt, and this ancient one (I've had it since I was 15 or 16) is the only one I own. I paired it with a Cookie Monster shirt, and I was. So. Comfortable! And I felt really really tall as well. Hooray for sky high yet comfortable heels!

Shoeper Shoesday: Dany

Shoeperwoman Amber has relaunched the Shoeper Shoesdays, so I'm showing you a quick shot of what's on my feet today: my purple velvet Danys by Jessica Simpson. I was planning on taking full outfit photos when I get home anyway, so you can expect a shoe challenge post later tonight as well!

Minx

At first glance, I was sure these would be Jeffrey Campbell. I was wrong though, as they are actually Dolce Vita, which I would probably never have guessed. Regardless of the brand, I think they're ace. The cutwork on the wooden wedge is unique, but not impractical, and the rest of the shoe isn't overworked. I love the simplicity of the nude suede uppers with the black piping (contrast always works so well on a shoe), and I'm pretty certain these would look marvellous with a floaty summer dress. I bet you would even feel like a... (wait for it) minx in these.

You asked for it

Look what popped into my inbox a couple of days ago. Oh, the irony! When I think about how much effort it took for those shoes to get here... But yes, you've read that correctly, they are finally here. I will have to reconsider buying from the States though, as I've been paying my ass off on customs fees and taxes. They almost cost as much as the shoes themselves! I've got the idea that I pay more whenever I buy discounted items, it's as if they add up the discount to the customs fees, and I end up paying just as much as I would have before the sales.

The Bette platforms are definitely a lot nicer than I had expected. For a purchase that was essentially an afterthought, they are stunning in the flesh.

The colours are much more vibrant, the crochet lace is gorgeous and elegant, and they'll look good even with tights come wintertime. And the best part? They are very comfortable, the US7 fits me perfectly as usual with Jeffrey Campbell shoes, and the padded soles make all the difference.

Bonus points for the major toe cleavage! Ssssexy!!

The pair of shoes that all the fuss was about, the Rockettes, are a bit of a letdown actually. They are gorgeous, as I was convinced they would be, but the sizing is completely off. When I tried them on this afternoon, it was tight but bearable. I could walk in them. Tonight, it has proven to be damn near impossible to get my feet in.

Lengthwise I can barely fit in them, but the problem sits within the very narrow toe box. My Daisy D's are narrow in the front as well, but at least I can get my feet in. I don't really understand the problem, as all my other pairs of Jeffrey Campbells are all size 7's and I've had no (real) problems with any of those. With the massive taxes I've paid for them, I guess there's nothing left for me to do but to try and stretch them out a bit. I'll keep you guys posted, that's for sure!

Banana

It's that time again: sales at Karen Millen! And of course these banana yellow peep toes were going to attract my attention! They're plain enough to be timeless, but I love the stacked heel and platform, and I absolutely adore the dotty cut outs! Also, that subtle brogue twist convinces me every time! These are down to €119 and still available in all sizes, so if you want to get them, you can do so here.
After a little bit of hesitation I settled on this gorgeous dress myself. Although it's white and therefor not too wearable I'm afraid, I couldn't say no to the intricate embroidery and that typical shape that I love so much. That gorgeous neckline and that flirty skirt pulled me right in...

Shoe challenge #20: Red and blue

Another from last weekend. Not even I could pull this dress off for a day at the office. Not without a cardigan anyway. Let's say that it's even skimpier from the back.

See? Told you. Not work appropriate. It was the first time that I got to wear this dress, and I matched it to the little bows on my shoes. I love the look of these Daisy D's, but just like all Jeffrey Campbell shoes, they are very narrow across the foot on me. We had a little BBQ with friends on Sunday, and I kicked these off while I was munching on all that deliciousness.

Still very pretty though.

Palma

These just caught my eye on the Asos website, and I still can't tear my eyes away from them. They are magnificent! I love the wood with the off white (the chartreuse version doesn't do anything for me), an I'm always a sucker for a nice mary jane shape. They are expensive though, at €95.

Shoe challenge #14: Nautical Paris

Normally, trousers are not my friend. I'm a dress and skirts kind of girl. But last week I had a videoshoot for work, in which I had to ride a bicycle, and I was told to switch it up for once and wear jeans. And to leave the stilettos at home.

I meant to wear this outfit one of these days anyway, ever since I saw a similar look on Kendi a while back. (I tried to find the right post, but failed) I think this top went pretty great with my navy pinstriped blazer, and some red lipstick tied in nicely with the red shoes. And just like that an outfit was born.

And I was happy about it, even if it didn't involve a pretty dress. It even made me think of Paris a bit, and I wished I had a pretty red barret to match.

My wooden wedges look pretty beaten up by now, after a couple of walks in the pouring rain. I'm actually thinking about restaining them with some dark varnish.

Lassie

In the mood for some Louboutin for Summer, but no funds to get any redsoled babies on your feet right now? Maybe you can try this great alternative from Topshop.

Very similar to Louboutin's Super Dombasle (on top) but in a neutral nude, and at only a fraction of the cost: £55 versus £345. Not quite as striking and with a stacked heal instead of a cork one, but still a good deal if you ask me.

Over the moon

I'm beside myself right now. I thought all was lost, and then fate dealt me a lucky hand. For months I have been deliberating over these Rockette platforms from Jeffrey Campbell. Months! At first, I was afraid they were a bit too extravagant, even for me. Until I decided I had to have them. Yes, I would dare to wear them! I would ignore all the crazy glances cast my way.
And then, you guessed it, they sold out. All of a sudden. One moment there were still some pairs (and some sizes) left, the next day they had disappeared off the website. While I was waiting for payday to come around, someone had gotten to them first.
I started "the hunt". I googled them, but only found the snake print version. (which is nice, but not as nice as the leopard) Nothing even turned up on eBay, except for these, which I find rather ugly. There was nothing left for me to do but to check out the Nasty Gal website every day, hoping and wishing and praying that someone would send them back. And today, they appeared like a magic genie from a bottle. Only one pair, just my size! Granted, they were pretty pricey for an impulsive purchase (it took me about a minute and a half from squeal to checkout), but then again, I don't think these count as impulsive anymore, do you?
I can't wait until these show up! I just hope that whomever sent them back, did it because they couldn't walk in them and not because something's wrong with them. Oh! Excited!

Shoe challenge #7: Grey+yellow

I told you you'd see this outfit again, and I wasn't lying. I paired my trusty grey dress with one of my alltime favourite shoes: my sunshine wedges from Jeffrey Campbell. I took me forever to take the plunge and actually buy these, since they had to come from the US, but I'm so happy I eventually did before they completely sold out. They are worth double their money! I wear them ALL.THE.TIME. They are so comfortable, and yellow goes with everything. Or at least that's my opinion...

As seen in last year's Shoe Challenge: with a yellow dress and purple tights.

Muffy

I like these, they remind me of a fluffy rainbow. A very expensive one though, as these sandals go through the till at £260... So I guess that means they'll never be on my feet.

Suspect

I... don't know. I hate the silver buckles on these, but dude, I can't stop looking at them. I don't know how comfortable those clear plastic straps would be, but I do think I would wear them. Just look how awesome they look from the side! Or they elegant? No. But are they fun? Ooooh, you bet!

I do think Jeffrey Campbell has been on a roll lately, increasing his success/massive failure ratio. I have been falling in love with a lot of his designs... Or maybe that just means I'm slowly losing my mind. After all, I'm the crazy shoe blogger that likes these clear plastic uppers. Yes, you may declare me a madwoman now. If you must. Or you can agree with me and get the shoes. You could do that too.

Outfit: Stripes meet flowers

This outfit is already a week old, it's actually from last Monday but I've been too lazy to upload my pictures. The blue top has been in my closet for two years, maybe even more, and I had never worn it before because, honestly, I didn't know what to do with it. I had the idea to pair it with a posh striped shirt, and that made me think of combining stripes with flowers. Et voilĂ ! An outfit was born!

I was pretty happy with myself, as you can tell. If I could only save three pairs of shoes from my burning house, these would be pair number one to be rescued. My Jeffrey Campbell Sunshine wedges are most definitely in my top 3. They are incredibly comfy, and I love how they change colour according to the light. They're actually bright yellow, but they can seem lime green or even orange.

Jeffrey Campbell LOVE

Jeffrey Campbell's designs are not everyone's cup of tea, I realize that. And as much as I love the JC pairs that I do own, it's very often hit and miss with his designs. I myself am one of that rare breed of shoe bloggers that dislike the (in my opinion) heavily overrated Litas, but I feel that lately he has been knocking it out of the ballpark. A little peek at the 'new in' section on Solestruck made me giddy, even.
I think the above shoes will probably be the most controversial, but I dig them. I've actually quite loved the regular Nightwalk since they came out, especially in black suede, and I may love this pimped out version even more. These feature rows of nails along the back, and are appropriately called Night Nail. There's also a slightly heavier version with screws called Nightware. They're $200, but unfortunately I wouldn't know where to wear them anyway. If anyone has these though, please let us know in the comments if they are walkable. Sharing is caring!

I'm also loving this summer version called Str8up, especially with the wooden wedge, and at $150 they are less of an investment than the Nightwalks.

There are also some more feminine designs, such as this Day2 (above - $155) and Sabine (below - $125) sandals. I adore the curvy heel on the first and the minimalism and the pink colour of the latter.

I can even appreciate Danger, an edgier version of Day2, although I wish the spikes were smaller. If you're feeling a little S&M chick, they can be yours for $150, and you'll be sure to turn some heads.

I guess you can't learn an old dog new tricks  after all...

Dressember - the 12th

Most days I follow the same routine: dress, shoes and matching belt. And usually a cardigan on top. It's the easiest thing in the world. I honestly don't get why people don't bother and just go out in whatever they can find first, when it takes no time or effort at all to be pretty. Or feel pretty, at least.
Unfortunately, I don't have any photos for Friday through Sunday, since I spent the weekend at my mum's place without a camera, but I can promise you that I wore a dress every single day. I recycled a little, so it would probably not have made for very interesting photos anyway.
In fact, I even recycled the dress I wore today. I love how you can create a different look by just changing the accessories, it's what I usually do. With this dress, it's mostly this yellow look or the same with my similar red wedges.
Speaking of wedges, I really do love these Jeffrey Campbell Sunshine wedges. They're in my top three, which, considering the amount of shoes I own, is a pretty big deal. I wear them all the time. They're just so comfortable (except when the ground is wet, then they get really slippery and tricky) and beautiful. The colour is a really bright corn yellow by day, but they can seem lime green or even orange in darker circumstances. Small downside: the straps on these broke twice, so I had to have them repaired twice, but now it seems like they're finally holding on. No similar problems with my other Jeffrey Campbell wedges though. (touching wood)
How do you feel about my christmas tree? Apparently some people really like it, some really hate it. But, I'm a girly girl and I live on my own, so I just went for the tacky, kitschy pink tree. (I still have to buy a cover for the foot, don't mind that little detail)

Dressember - the 8th

I decided it was high time to whip out my Jeffrey Campbell Daisy D's. They're quite narrow across the toe, which is why I don't wear them nearly as much as I should and never wear them two days in a row. It looks as though I'm wearing head to toe black, but actually I'm wearing a navy blue dress (which is a pity you can't see the detail of, because it's so simple yet gorgeous). For weather related reasons I obviously wore a cardigan on top, as well as my red coat.
And on a completely unrelated topic: I'm finally going to set up my very first Christmas tree of my own! It's going to be lots of pink, photos will no doubt follow. It's about time for my Solestruck package (Black Friday!) to arrive, so those shoes can go under the tree as well haha.

A solution for the Lita issue. Next: a Belgian government and world peace

I've talked about my dislike of Lita's before. They're the most talked about shoe of the last year, especially in the blogosphere, and every fashion blogger seems to go crazy over them. Personally, I don't get it. Really really don't get it. I'm sure they're indeed as comfortable as everyone has been claiming, but to have them on my feet? No. A world of no.
Don't get me wrong, sometimes I dig a really chunky shoe. I am a Jeffrey Campbell fan after all and I own a pair of Jessica Simpson Dany's. I actually like the back of the Lita's, there's just something about a nice clean wooden heel. I do have a serious problem with the toe box though, it's just so square and clunky and, well, plain unattractive. Which is why these Steve Madden boots offer a perfect solution for other Lita-haters like me.

See, a more sophisticated toe box! Hooray! That said, the leopard uppers and the strap across the foot aren't too shabby either. They'll cost you $189.
