Prickly toes

From far away these might seem like just your regular classic toe capped ballerina flat (much à la Chanel), but it's the less obvious detail that I adore: the sparkly little black studs on the front.

Bonus points for looking übercomfy. Con: even at the reduced price they're still quite expensive: €119 at Asos. And yet, Sam Edelman is still my hero. Not in the least because of these bad boys.

Shoe challenge #89: Champagne

These satin peep toes were without a doubt the hardest shoes in my collection to save. Obviously because of the fabric, especially combined with the Belgian weather, but also because I had nothing in my wardrobe that matched the colour perfectly. I could have gone for a LBD, but I noticed the tiny hints of champagne in this dress (after I did my succesful trick of walking around putting the shoes next to the clothing). To be completely honest, I did not go to work in these. I had intended to, but right as I wanted to leave it started pouring again. Oh, only one more week until I can bask in the Turkish sunshine!

I love this dress, I do. I love the pattern, the poofy skirt and the quirky neckline, even if it makes the booby department look ginormous. Which isn't always good.

The shoes, well, let's just say they're not exactly the most comfortable ones. Not only did they cut my heel, they cut my toes as well. Not really the ones I would wear to a party, that's for sure. But hey, at least they're saved, I can think of occasions to wear them later! And now soon, the very last pair of shoes!!

Stop the presses: cute pair of peeptoe booties spotted!

As an avid hater of peeptoe booties, I never ever expected to have to say this, but: I love these Olechka peeptoe booties. I'm a big fan of the different hues of grey, that repeat itself in the layered platform as well. I love how they are both quite tough and cute and feminine at the same time. Something to do with all those gorgeous curves, I suppose. Would I like them even better with a closed toe? Possibly. But Hervé Léger decided otherwise, and I'm fine with that. For once. Hervé - Daisy: 1-0.

Coincidentally, The Outnet has a couple of other beautiful things on show that would go great with these shoes. Such as this stunning Marchesa number. LBD anyone? Or how about this extremely fierce skirt by Matthew Williamson?

Oh, The Outnet, you're my poison. Good thing I don't have any money to spend on you at the mo. But if anyone should be feeling generous, I wear a shoe size UK4-5, and a UK10. Maybe a 12 for the skirt, if we're being straight with each other.

Creme edgy sandals

Today I'm drooling over these. Oh Jessica Simpson, who would have ever thought I wanted to wear anything from you? But, I must say, the woman knows her shoes.

Shoe challenge #28: Grey matches the weather

 Sweater (New Look),
belt (Bandolera), jeans (H&M)
and shoes (Dorothy Perkins)
There are no words for how much I love this new sweater. Looooove. Adoooorbs. If you want to give me one in every colour, please do! It's actually waaay to big on me, which is why I decided to use this fierce belt I had lying around to create a waist and close it up in the front at the same time, since it's like, getting pretty cold over here in this part of the world.

I love the clash between the textures
While I was pondering about which shoes to go with this sweater, I realised the snake print on these pumps would perfectly with this grey, which has some specks of deceiving green in it. I didn't buy these shoes myself, they were a donation from a friend who couldn't take two steps in them. I have heard of the 'no white shoes after Labor day' rule, but hey, they are more cream than white and we don't even have such a holiday in Belgium! So I can do whatever I please!
It might not have been the most polished look ever, but lord was I comfy. My office roomie and I now refer to this sweater as the cuddly sweater, since it's so soft I can't even resist cuddling myself from time to time!

Shoe challenge #18: Secretary booties go to work

Top (no idea), dress (Cassis),
tights (Veritas) and shoes (Ebay,
from somewhere in China)
I wasn't sure about this outfit when I wore it earlier this week. But I did get a few compliments, so even if I think I could've styled it better, at least it's another pair of shoes done for the shoe challenge. The thing is, I wasn't happy with these shoes when they arrived. And that's an understatement. But I even got some compliments about those as well. Maybe they look slightly less cheap-ass when they're on my feet. Especially my best friend, who has yet to learn to appreciate my usual crazy taste in shoes, liked these. I believe her exact words were "much better than those cherry ones". Do I need say more? Didn't think so.
The secretary booties at their arrival
I already bought a mustardy yellow longsleeved top to go under this dress (which I got from my mum just last week). I used to go to a uniformed school and had to wear a grey pleaded skirt with either navy or white. All day, every day. And this combination really reminds me of that period. It took me exactly eight years to start wearing navy or any kind of blue again, so at least I'll be doing it my way next time. So, with yellow. And maybe some boots. But not the grey ones.
At the moment I'm not completely sure if I'll get much wear out of these. I only wore them for two days and already lost one of the heel tips. Grmbl.

Coming to you soon in a Shoe Challenge post

I guess you do get what you pay for
My creme secretary booties finally arrived from China and I'm very disappointed to admit that they look extremely cheap. The uppers are fine, it's just that the heel is shiny plastic and it shows. But well, maybe I'll get away with it, luckily they actually were very cheap.
I'm a lot happier calling these mine though:
Hello lovers!
Yes, those are the Pigalle lookalikes I showed you a while ago. My sneaky friends bought them behind my back and I was completely surprised to get them as a belated birthday present at my BBQ last night. This is how happy I was:
Yes, I'm hugging the shoes.
As if you never do!
I think this shoe is amazingly sexy and yet a great look for the office as well. They're already a size up from what I usually wear and they run a bit small (well, I have wide feet), but for shoes this pretty I would sacrifice a toe. So thank you girly friends, I love them!
RRRRRrrrrrrr!

New shoes: Little secretary booties

I have no self control whatsoever. I was supposed to be in shoe rehab, but when I saw these beige little shoeboots I succumbed. I love them for all the obvious reasons: the little bow, the two toned materials, the high heel, the black piping. After all, winter will be coming soon, so I just needed some more booties! And since I found them on eBay, they were pretty cheap. Enough excuses?
